VIP Membership Information
Joining our concierge medical practice grants you the convenience of appointments at Solutions Medical Center. Kate Gassaway, FNP and her staff value your time and strive to provide an efficient and reliable service. At Solutions, every staff member is knowledgeable and friendly and we strive to call each patient back in a timely fashion. In addition to excellent everyday medical care, we also have several VIP annual plans which provide medical experience for a limited number of patients who appreciate a superior level of personal attention. We are very attentive to all aspects of our patients’ health needs and ensure each patient visit is a pleasant, positive experience. Each VIP plan will consist of the following:
- Proactive health risk management (identifying and correcting minor health problems before they become major ones)
- Same day or next day appointments
- Direct access to your Health Care Provider at all times via email/text. Even when you’re out of town.

- Prompt follow-up on all tests and reports

- Fast and Easy Prescription Renewal Anytime/Anywhere
- Discounts on all of our aesthetic laser services (Plan A Members only)
Membership Expiration and Renewal
Solutions VIP membership expires one year from the date of enrollment at which time you will be invited to renew for another year. Please note that a discounted rate for couples only applies if both share the same enrollment date.
Reimbursement by Medicare or other government insurance
We do not participate in Medicare nor are you allowed to bill directly to Medicare for reimbursement. Patients of Medicare age are just as welcome as anyone else to join our VIP Memberships. We are not a provider for Medicare or any other government health programs. Federal law requires that patients over age 65 must sign a “Private Contract” with our office agreeing not to submit claims to Medicare for any medical services they receive from us. Your government coverage remains fully in effect for any medical expenses you may incur from other doctors or medical facilities. All patients must provide us with notice of participation in a Medicaid program.
Special Instructions concerning Patients with Medicaid
We may not refer, order or prescribe any prescriptions or outside services to Medicaid patients. For example, we cannot write Medicaid patients prescriptions, order and MRI or refer to a cardiologist.
What is not included in our membership plan
Examples of in-office charges that are not covered:
- Any send out labs we do not offer in our clinic
- Sophisticated viral tests for HIV
- Other very expensive tests (i.e., Pap smears, HSV I & II Select, etc.) cannot be included under your membership. If you should require such a special test, we will always discuss this with you before the test is done. Should you wish to proceed with the test, we can either bill you what the lab charges us; make arrangements to have the lab bill your insurance directly; or we can refer you to a specialist who can perform the test and then bill your insurance directly.
Prescriptions not included in plan
The VIP membership plan provides no coverage for prescription medications to be filled or any other health expenses you might incur outside our office.
What to do in an emergency
If you believe that a TRUE EMERGENCY exists, don’t waste valuable time trying to reach Solutions Medical Center. Instead, either DIAL 911 or immediately take the patient to the EMERGENCY ROOM of the nearest hospital.
(You should prepare for such an emergency in advance by finding out which hospital is approved by your health plan).
Normal Office Hours
Our normal office hours are 9-6 on Mondays/Thursdays and 9-5 on Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Fridays. If you are a VIP member with an urgent problem, you can call our office immediately after we open at 9:00 am any weekday morning; and we do our best to schedule an appointment that same day. Please remember our office is closed on the weekends. A Solutions Medical Center staff member is available on-call 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
What to do if you become ill while traveling
If you become ill while traveling, you may call Kate Gassaway, FNP. She will be able to help you assess the seriousness of your problem and offer advice about what you should do. Often she will be able to phone out something to a pharmacy near you that will solve your problem or at least get you by until you are able to come to our office for evaluation. If she feels that your problem is potentially serious, she may advise that you go to a local emergency room. Any medical costs you incur outside our office are not covered by your VIP membership fee, but we will always be available to help “coach” you through the problem from afar.
Will I still benefit from Solutions Medical even if I don’t require frequent medical attention?
Of course. We will argue that everyone benefits from a service tailored directly to them. That’s why we offer custom healthcare. Our practice is devoted to the maintenance of your good health, to the enhancements of your daily experience that only physical well-being can bring. Every visit, for whatever reason, will be easy-going in its absolute thoroughness, relaxed in answering your questions and addressing the need of the moment. Then, as the months and years go by, we’ll build a comprehensive, intimate knowledge of your health, invaluable understanding available in no other regimen of care.
Does Solutions Medical Center accept health insurance?
Happily, no. Perhaps the most critical distinction in our model of care centers on a direct, personal relationship between you and your health care provider. That directness carries over to our business model as well. While the tender mercies of an insurance company might apply to the fixing of a damaged fender on your automobile, we see no reason for any insurer to have a voice about either the quality or the cost of your family’s health care.
We forgo insurance payments in order to save our patients from the intrusive decisions that inevitably follow with third-party payors. We will work with you if you want to file a claim to your commercial insurance carrier.
As a patient of Solutions Medical Center, will I still need health insurance?
Yes. We recommend that our clients continue to carry both a major medical plan and a health savings account, thereby ensuring financial help should hospitalization or referral to a specialist be necessary or any outside lab tests that need to be performed.
If I have Medicare, can I still join Solutions Medical Center?
Yes. You need only sign a waiver declaring that neither you nor your health care provider will directly bill Medicare for our services.
What happens if I need to go to the hospital or see a specialist?
In providing superb care with unprecedented sorts of access, we seek to prevent or reduce hospitalizations and specialty referrals. In some cases, depending on the level of care and the sorts of expertise required, we may rely on those specialized caregivers to manage your treatment. Our VIP Membership does not cover hospital services or speciality referrals.
Can children become members of Solutions Medical Center?
Yes. We are happy to accept the children (age 12 years and older) of our enrolled clients. At this time, we are not able to provide routine vaccinations for young children but we will happily work with you to arrange these. Our VIP Membership does not cover the cost of these vaccines.
What if I need medical attention while I’m away from home?
Naturally we provide such care – yet another freedom we enjoy together as a result of Solutions’ independence from the restrictions of third-party payment. Because we know you well, we can streamline your care when you’re sick away from home. In the age of telemedicine, many illnesses can be diagnosed and treated with a simple conversation by phone or webcam. We’ll locate the nearest pharmacy and order the medications most appropriate for your present circumstances.
Are my medical records shared with insurance carriers or pharmaceutical companies?
We maintain scrupulous standards of privacy. We only share information in accordance with applicable law, your consent, in the event of an emergency to avoid impending serious injury or death, or as required by your insurance carrier in the even you submit claims for your services.
