Plasma Pen

The Plasma Pen is a revolutionary new concept in non-invasive skin lifting and tightening.  It offers an improved method of treating loose skin and wrinkles and is often used around the eyes, mouth, and neck.  The FDA approved treatment stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen results in dramatic improvement in loose skin and wrinkles. Plasma technology converts electrical energy into energized nitrogen gas that transmits energy to the skin’s surface.  The effect is that heat is generated with stimulates a healing process where fibroblasts are recruited to the skin and produce collagen in abundance thereby tightening and rejuvenating the skin.

Plasma pen can be used on any area of the body with loose or creepy skin or fine lines and wrinkles.  The most common area are the periocular area/upper and lower eyelids/crow’s feet, perioral area/upper lip and chin, and anterior neck.  Other areas include but are are not limited to forehead lines/forehead tightening, jowl and jawline tightening, and on stretchmarks.
Results are almost immediate with visible tightening.  Improvements continue for the next three months with continued tightening and improvements in wrinkles.  In some cases, more than one session may be desired for further improvements.  Results typically last between 3 and 5 years.
Treatments are done in office using only cooling and topical anesthetic cream.  The treatment feels like multiple small pin pricks or a slight burning sensation.  Post treatment pain is minimal.  Treatment sessions last between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the extent of the areas being treated.  Risks of the procedure include redness, swelling, bruising, scabbing for several days, and skin discoloration.  It is important to avoid sun in the recovery period.
“Downtime” is variable but you can expect to be visibly bruised and swollen with scabs for 5-7 days.  Each treatment come with a recovery kit with all necessary skin care and precise instructions.  The scabs will come off at about a week and at that point most patient are looking presentable for most activities.
